This is such a pretty victorian 9 carat pinky yellow gold locket.
The locket is prettily hand engraved on the front in typical late 19th century style with a scroll
shaped vacant cartouche with scrolls on the front surrounding the cartouche and ivy leaves on the back.
It is stamped ‘9ct back & front’ indicating that the outer casing is gold on an inner framework of yellow metal with gilt slips.
Inside the locket are 2 photos of a victorian couple , both beneath glass .
The locket measures 2 cms in diameter or 3/4 of an inch.
The condition is excellent with a patina of age.
